Music Therapy Tales
Clinical tales are a way of communicating the experience a therapist has with clients or patients. Science has always benefited from case studies as a way of advancing understandings of how the brain works in various diseases and disorders. Oliver Sacks, in his wonderful reading, allowed us the privilege of reading clinical tales as a way to honor abilities nested in disabilities. I am currently involved in a filming project called 'Music Therapy Tales' (www.musictherapytales.com). These films will be hosted on a website that presents stories in various areas of clinical practice: hospice, oncology, stroke, Parkinson's disease, brain injury, mental health, early intervention, autism, dementia/Alzheimer's and complex special needs. Stay tuned for these postings.
